below is the instructor details:
Be sure to follow this outline to cover every category!
There are three sections (Need to Express, Intent, and Impact), and in each section you will be graded based on how you discussed that topic regarding your artifact AND another artifact, artist, or concept from the course. If you choose to discuss a concept, be SURE to tell me what that concept is and where we looked at it during the course. For example, arts used with returning vets in module 8. If there is an article connected, be sure to name the article and the author. If you merely speak generally about some concept, and I don’t know exactly what concept it is and where it came from
Use your artifact for all three sections. Much of this might come from your work on the project in week 6.For the second half of each section, you can use three different artifacts (or the same one or any combination.) Just be sure to complete all three sections using your artifact and one other from the course.
A basic outline of what this will look like:
A. Answer general prompts
1. Your artifact and the need to express
2. Another artifact or artist or concept from the course and the need to express
B. Answer general prompts
1. Your artifact and intent
2. Another artifact or artist or concept from the course and intent
C. Answer general prompts
1. Your artifact and how it can relate to today’s issues
2. Another artifact or artist or concept from the course and how it can relate to today’s issues
That’s it – follow this outline so you don’t miss any sections.
Be sure to name the artifact/concept for the second half of each section, and where in the class it is from.
i also attached the Guidelines and Rubic from my school, so that can give you a good idea on what the assignment is about.
below is what we learned from Module 5-8
Major Developments in the Humanities Module 5
As we learned in the first half of this course, artifacts in the humanities are influenced by the cultures in which they are created. We also discussed how cultures are specific to time and place. Thus, with the passage of history, cultures have changed, and with them, the nature of the artifacts they produced. In this module, we will start to study major developments within the humanities. We will look at specific periods of history and identify commonalities among the artifacts created during those times, similar to how we may notice common features of TV shows from the 1950s or fashion in the 1970s.
Realism, Impressionism, and the Modern World Module 6
In this module, we will continue our focus on specific periods of history and identify commonalities among the artifacts created during those times. This module will focus on Enlightenment and Romanticism, as well as Realism, Impressionism, and the modern world.
Value of the Humanities for Contemporary Issues Module 7
In the last two modules, we looked at the history of major developments in the humanities from the ancient world to the modern era. In this module, we will start to look at contemporary issues, and we will examine the value of the humanities in preparation for completing Project 2, which is due in Module Eight.
Humanities and Religion Module 8
In the previous module, we covered the value of the humanities for contemporary issues, such as ethics, gender, and race, as well as the relationship between human creative expression and culture. In the final week of this course, we will focus on the humanities and religion, religion in the media, and humanities and individuals with special needs, taking into consideration the value of human creative expression to the advancement of human culture. This is also the week that Project 2: Short Answer Responses about Human Expression is due.
